Integrated Scar Work TherapyScars can cause restricted movement, pain and discomfort.
Are you struggling with a C-section scar or hysterectomy scar that is causing you problems? Or perhaps you are concerned about abdominal adhesions caused by endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease? Massage can help to break down scar tissue and adhesions - releasing stuck tissue and freeing up movement. Most problematic scars have similar characteristics - the skin is tight, hard with bands of fibres below the surface. They are often non pliable and if they cross a joint may cause a limited range of motion in the joint.
Other negative impacts are: Nerve impingement Pain Numbness Poor postural alignment Muscle atrophy/wastage Limited range of motion & an increased risk of injury * It doesn't matter if you have had your scar for some years - most scars have a level of stuck-ness which can be helped by massage.
