I am Contentment
These words resonate with me on quite a deep level - they will be different for everyone as we will all put a slightly different meaning to them. I find these words give me a feeling of calmness which can last for a good few hours.
Here is a little exercise for you to try ….
Think of a word or short phrase that makes you feel calm and relaxed.
Find somewhere comfortable to sit and allow your eyes to gently close, take in a few deep breaths as the muscles of your body relax. And then allow your breathing to settle into it's natural rhythm.
Start to repeat your phrase or word to yourself either silently or aloud and continue to do this for 5 - 10 minutes. If something else pops into your head acknowledge it and allow it to drift on through like a cloud and then return to repeating your word/phrase. When your time is up open your eyes and notice how you feel.
If you find this a nice exercise to do then practice it for a week and see if you notice any changes in your mood.
And if you are really keen you can start to extend it to 10 -20 minutes!
